Heroes Empire – game release

When something works, you repeat. Right? At least this is what Frozen Shard thought when they decided to launch their third game in a row using Gamedonia platform. Though, that shouldn’t come as a surprise, because with Gamedonia publishing games across platforms and shops is easier to justify from a business standpoint. Besides the usual IAP integration with the App Store and Google Play mobile platforms, we make publishing for web browser platforms worth the developers time. Why? Our hosting feature lifts off the burden of setting up and maintaining web domains to host Facebook and Kongregate games. Developers can host games in Gamedonia very easily. Just choose a name for your subdomain in Gamedonia where you’ll be able to upload and download files by FTP. Swim Niyo – game release

Yet another game release using Gamedonia. This week we’re covering Swim Niyo a little game made by a trio of developers from India. The team led by Muthusellapandi, publishes the game under the umbrella of the LivTek IT conglomerate. The developers relise that with the industy current state, the beautiful designs by Raj and Praveen are only the beginning of any project that seeks to be productive.   Swim Niyo’s Developers Big Concern The main concern of the developers was the ability to effectively manage all the data users would generate non-stop with the use of the game and assuring a level of control for sensitive information that should always be kept private, such as passwords. In Gamedonia, this issue is handled from the start, with a User collection of data that is automatically generated when you add a game to our platform. The structure of Gamedonia  gives developers the freedom to add all the information they need in the Profile part, such as id, nickname, Elo rating or profile pic. But maybe more importantly, it keeps sensitive information private in the Credentials part. Screenshot of gameplay of Swim Niyo. Another thing they wanted to get right was finding a way of integrating secure in-app purchases. In fact, this feature was their gateway into the Gamedonia backend platform. Besides, Muthusellapandi was interested in setting up part of the data for the game using Gamedonia database, a crucial decision that makes managing the main functions on the game very easy. For instance, encrypting all communications, or adding a verification process for the items bought via IAP that were previously organized in...

Legends of Zura – game release

Every week more games are launched using Gamedonia. Small and big studios are taking advantage of the solutions our backend bring to develop faster, and better, so they can focus on what matters most. This time we’re happy to present you a fantasy collectible card game called Legends of Zura, by the solo developer running Mad Turtle Games. The card battler is designed as free to play, so you can progress in the game and have fun without spending a dime. Players gain new cards upon the completion of the tutorial, where you’re taught the basics of the mechanics to enjoy the game. The goal is expanding your collection of cards, which you’ll get from booster packs. Some packs are given away for free, but you can also buy them from the game store. Cracking just a few packs will open your deck building possibilities greatly and you’ll be able to build decks more suited to your style of play. A screenshot of the battle game play.    How a solo game developer backend as a service To manage the collections of cards in Legends of Zura, the developer uses Gamedonia database manager, so when time you log into your account, your colelction is retrieved and showed to you to build new decks. Besides, Mad Turtle implemented in-app purchases thanks to how easy it is with Gamedonia, where with one single line of code manages the safe communication process with Google Play. Push notifications were also added as a means to interact with the players and...

Why integrate a live game operations platform

Today we’ve got the perfect example of the benefits of integrating a live game operations platform into your game, even if it is already live in the stores. We’ve got +1,000 developers working in Gamedonia now so we have the data that shows how developers benefit from using the platform. Many use our support channels to learn how our service works and what it can do for them. And that’s why it’s there for! Although, because we’ve build Gamedonia to be flexible, that many users naturally understand how the platform is structured and work it all out on their own. Alex is an example of the latter. He simply signed up for Gamedonia, used our documentation site to learn how we roll, integrated our iOS SDK into his already live game and started using Gamedonia to his advantage. Alex published Space Story for iOS back in June 2013 and has been constantly tweaking and improving it for the loyal group of fans of the game. So, what’s the deal with Alex’s game? I can tell you it’s a complex mix of video game genres. According to his pitch in the App Store: Space Story is a combat and trade simulator with adventure RPG elements that immerse you in a fantastic world of DeepWalkers and Nightmares.   Why indies should integrate live game operations One of the most important characteristics of an RPG game is the ability to store hierarchic user profile structures where stats are leveled up and new abilities are unlocked as our character progresses in the game. With the user profile manager, developers like Alex are able...
